GlobalFoundries-Malta Group Grants Top $150,000
GlobalFoundries has awarded grants totaling more than $150,000 to the local community.
In a recent announcement at the David R. Meager Malta Community Center, the GlobalFoundries-Town of Malta Foundation awarded 24 grants totaling $154,200 for 2022.
It was the 12th year in a row that GF has awarded grants to local groups and organizations.
The grants support a variety of community needs and programs. Including the 2022 grants, the foundation, formed by GlobalFoundries and the town of Malta, has doled out more than $1.73 million to the Malta community since 2011.
In 2010, as part of the development of the Fab 8 semiconductor construction facility project, GlobalFoundries invested a total of $5 million to fund two stand-alone 501 (c)3 charitable foundations: the GF-Town of Malta Foundation and the GF-Town of Stillwater Foundation. Each foundation is managed by a separate, independent board of directors and uses income earned from investments to fund a wide variety of local community programs.
Each year, the GF-Town of Malta Foundation looks to fund projects that are creative, innovative, and inclusive in their scope to benefit the local Malta-area community.
