MIDDLE GROVE, N.Y. – The Town of Greenfield will host its first-ever Community Day Celebration on Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Middle Grove Park, located at 428 Middle Grove Road. The family-friendly event, themed as a “red, white and blue barbecue,” invites residents to come together for an afternoon of local pride, live entertainment, delicious food, and community connection.

Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue or show their spirit with a commemorative “TOG Better TOGether” t-shirt, available for $15. Shirts can be purchased in advance by calling 518-893-7432 ext. 307 or emailing jzeisler@greenfieldny.org. Event sponsors will be recognized on the back of each shirt.

The day’s festivities will include:

  • Live music by Natalie of Nocturnne
  • Magic shows, lawn games, and an inflatable obstacle course for children and families
  • Hamburgers, hotdogs, and pizza available for purchase
  • More than 20 local vendors, including favorites from the Greenfield Farmers Market, selling handmade goods, food, and more
  • A sneak preview of the town’s soon-to-open pickleball courts
  • Access to the park’s playground and ½-mile paved walking and biking trail

In addition to the festivities, the Greenfield Grange #807 will hold a food drive to benefit the Greenfield Food Pantry. Donations of perishable and non-perishable food items, paper goods, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, baby essentials, and pet items are greatly appreciated. The Grange will also sell baked goods at the event to support the pantry’s efforts.

Local artist Maxine Tucker will be on-site painting a live portrait of Town Supervisor Kevin Veitch as part of her upcoming art show, “With My Own Two Hands.” The show will feature portraits of Greenfield residents and will debut June 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greenfield Firehouse, 13 S. Greenfield Road.

“This new event will bring our neighbors together for a day of celebration, connection, and fun,” said Town Supervisor Kevin Veitch. “TOG residents love the chance to gather and support our local businesses. Community pride is at an all-time high, and we cannot wait to make this an annual tradition.”

Recreation Director Jen Zeisler added, “We can’t wait to see our local families at this special community party. This giant patriotic picnic will be the perfect kickoff to summer, our nation’s patriotic holidays, and the upcoming TOG Farmers Market season.”

The TOG Farmers Market will run weekly on Thursdays from 4–7 p.m. at Middle Grove Park, beginning June 19 and continuing through September 18. The market will feature a rotating lineup of vendors offering fresh produce, flowers, handmade goods, snacks, maple products, and live entertainment.

The Town of Greenfield is home to more than 8,200 residents across Greenfield, Porter Corners, Middle Grove, Lake Desolation, and Maple Avenue. Covering over 41,000 acres, it is the largest town in Saratoga County by square mile, nestled along the edge of the Adirondacks.
