Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Saratoga County is bringing hands-on agriculture, food, and fun to the 2025 Saratoga County Fair, running July 22–27. With daily activities, live demos, and 4-H animal shows, fairgoers of all ages can experience the richness of local agriculture.

The Townley Building will host a variety of CCE-led workshops throughout the week, including pasture management, composting, rotational grazing, and gardening. Youth activities like seed sprout necklaces, mason jar sun catchers, and wildflower packet stamping make learning fun and accessible for families.

Culinary enthusiasts can catch live food demos featuring juicing, jam-making, fruit dehydration, and herb education—complete with free samples and giveaways. Highlights include the popular “All About Herbs” session and “Farm to Table” presentation led by CCE staff and volunteers.

Animal lovers can enjoy daily 4-H livestock shows featuring dairy cattle, goats, sheep, alpacas, rabbits, poultry, and more. Special events like the 4-H Fashion Revue and Young Farmers Olympics bring even more excitement to the fairgrounds.

Don’t miss the World Famous Chicken BBQ on Thursday, July 24, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Hosted by the 4-H Leaders Association, this $17 dinner includes BBQ chicken, sides, dessert, and a drink. Meals are carry-out only and must be pre-ordered.

CCE Saratoga’s presence at the fair offers a fun, educational, and delicious way to connect with local agriculture and 4-H youth. Visit sc4h.org for full details.
