Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest Returned Oct. 18 to Aid Local Kids
LAKE GEORGE, NY — The Oktoberfest fun for a good cause took place on Saturday, October 18, when Sewell Street in front of Adirondack Brewery transformed into the biggest block party of the year.
The 2025 Adirondack Oktoberfest Charity Block Party raised funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, which at the time had more than 200 children on its waitlist for mentors.
The event followed a successful Lake George Village Oktoberfest over Columbus Day Weekend, with both festivals drawing thousands of visitors to Lake George during peak fall foliage season.
In 2024, Adirondack Brewery’s Oktoberfest events had raised over $15,000 for the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, contributing to a total of more than $150,000 donated to local charities over the years.
Sewell Street was closed to traffic and transformed into a Bavarian-style celebration complete with a giant stage, nonstop polka music, and endless fun.
Festival highlights included:
- Adirondack Brewery Beer Garden
- Commemorative sampler steins and unlimited sampling of beer, wine & cider from guest breweries and local producers
- Traditional Oktoberfest fare like bratwurst, knackwurst, and potato pancakes
- Games and contests including keg tossing, stein hoisting, and cornhole
- Costume contest (lederhosen and dirndls encouraged!)
- Local vendors, live entertainment, and fall foliage views
- Free parking
“Our Oktoberfest events draw inspiration from Bavarian traditions while highlighting local flavor and community spirit,” said John Carr, owner of Adirondack Brewery. “Each year, these celebrations support a local nonprofit, giving back to the community we love.”
Bill Moon, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, expressed gratitude for being selected as this year’s beneficiary.
