Dancing Grain’s Annual Christmas Tree Bonfire Returns – Disco Inferno Style

After the holidays wind down, one Upstate New York tradition is just heating up. On Saturday, January 10, Dancing Grain Farm Brewery will once again host its Annual Christmas Tree Bonfire — and this year, the event is focused squarely on giving back to the community.

The bonfire is a full fundraiser for the South Glens Falls Fire Department, with 100% of proceeds from Christmas tree drop-offs, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing going directly to support the department. Last year’s event collected approximately 115 Christmas trees, and this year the goal is even bigger: 200 trees, maximizing both community involvement and fundraising impact.

A Bonfire Lit by Local Heroes

One of the most exciting moments of the evening is when the South Glens Falls Fire Department lights the bonfire themselves. The result is a massive, fast-burning, and incredibly visual fire that transforms dozens of donated Christmas trees into a dramatic winter spectacle — all under the watchful eye of trained professionals.

Community members are encouraged to bring their real Christmas trees (with all decorations removed) to be part of the event. Each tree dropped off helps fuel the bonfire and directly supports local emergency services.

Disco Inferno Theme Sets the Mood

This year’s bonfire comes with a fun twist: Disco Inferno. Guests can expect a heated tent, music, and plenty of encouragement to dress up in disco-themed costumes. The event is family-friendly, and if winter weather cooperates, sledding will also be available on the property.

Adding to the celebration, Dancing Grain will be releasing a one-off beer brewed exclusively for the event, giving attendees a unique way to toast the season while supporting a great cause.

Why It Matters

Events like the Annual Christmas Tree Bonfire highlight what makes local businesses so important. Dancing Grain isn’t just hosting a party — they’re creating a memorable experience that brings families together, supports first responders, and turns post-holiday cleanup into something meaningful.
