Speaker 2
Welcome, everyone, to buying local. I’m your host, Mike Nelson from Five Towers Media. Joined today by Doctor Sandra and Doctor Sandra.

00;00;09;25 – 00;00;25;01
Speaker 2
I’m really curious about everything because we’ve never met. This is our first time meeting is on the show, and, it’s a rare occurrence. I feel like these days when I meet someone in the business community I haven’t already met. So I’m very excited about our conversation. So welcome to the show.

00;00;25;04 – 00;00;39;22
Speaker 1
Thank you so much, Michael, for this opportunity to be here. And I am very thrilled to be able to talk about, our work, my work with the community and, to just be here to speak.

00;00;39;24 – 00;00;44;19
Speaker 2
So where to begin, right. Why don’t we just kind of tell us a little bit about yourself? I guess.

00;00;44;21 – 00;01;07;14
Speaker 1
So I, I’m, I’m Sandy to see Duran. I’m a dual board certified family medicine physician and geriatrician. I have an MBA in multi-sector health management and a fellowship in the American Academy of Family Practice. I have also been a Reiki practitioner for many years, since even before I finished medical school and a certified hypnosis therapist during, medical school as well.

00;01;07;16 – 00;01;29;03
Speaker 1
I was originally born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, so I have a lot of, traditional wellness experiences from my history from back then. I grew up doing yoga. I grew up, integrating, a lot of techniques from spirituality and different religious backgrounds. Are you Vedic medicine? Just think a holistic feel.

00;01;29;03 – 00;01;55;14
Speaker 1
So this is something that’s very near and dear to my heart. The type of work that we’re doing right now, I, recently created, Gentle Leaf Concierge, LLC. It’s an online wellness concierge. That has the majority of practitioners are on the concierge are from our community in the Capital District. There are several others that are in different states, and there are a couple that are international that are just newly onboarding.

00;01;55;17 – 00;02;18;17
Speaker 1
And what we are it’s an online wellness concierge that provides a customized, concierge experience for the client and for the practitioner. So our practitioners right now who are joining, they have a nice ad listing, a beautiful ad listing, if I may. But then lovely background. You click on it, it looks very it looks beautiful.

00;02;18;19 – 00;02;40;26
Speaker 1
Like I just, I feel happy when I look at it because I would like to offer clients and practitioners that type of, hand felt a grassroots touch, that is going to resonate with positive energies, for the client and for the community. And clients go on and they fill out a wellness assessment. And on that wellness assessment has different categories.

00;02;40;28 – 00;03;05;24
Speaker 1
Talking about, your age, your demographic, what your preferences are, what type of practitioner would you like to resonate with? Male, female, their age range. Would you like, to have Reiki? Would you like massage therapy? Would you like, essential oils? And therefore when they click that, we will be able to provide them a match service, basically with the type of practitioners who would resonate with their needs.

00;03;05;26 – 00;03;25;11
Speaker 1
Either it could be, I would like, online Reiki. I would like it like video Reiki. So right now we have several practitioners who do Reiki. One of them is, is is out in, the Midwest. There’s there are many that are local that do an in-person. There are some that do Hawaiian energetics along with Reiki.

00;03;25;11 – 00;03;45;28
Speaker 1
There’s some that do, Reiki infused products. So we have one in Albany that is a Reiki infused product as well. So some people would resonate with that and want that. So so there are these types of services that we offer a right now on the website, if, if you go on and you click on the wellness assessment, we customize that for you for free.

00;03;45;28 – 00;04;06;17
Speaker 1
So we provide you three practitioners completely free. You don’t have to pay anything. And we do have a special for the practitioners who join at a very low fee of $111 for the year, for the limited time only. And at the end of October it will be increasing to 222. And a lot of people ask the question about why are these strange numbers?

00;04;06;17 – 00;04;28;09
Speaker 1
Well, they are angelic numbers and we deal with high resonance and high frequency numbers. So all of our prices are in triple digits. And we we have we first started with the founders 11. So we had 11 practitioners and their fee was $44.40 to join. And then we went to the founders, the Founders Circle, which is 111 members.

00;04;28;16 – 00;04;52;28
Speaker 1
So when we get to that 111, that’s when our our frequency, our divine energies are going to be the highest. And a lot of people ask me, as a physician, you know, why are you why are you thinking in terms of numerology? Well, these things have existed even before modern medicine came into play. These things have existed for time immemorial, and we know it, and we know the energies, and we know that there are questions that we don’t have answers to.

00;04;53;00 – 00;05;19;15
Speaker 1
And this is this is why on the website we don’t only, give you a customized experience, but we also label each modality according to evidence based, evidence informed, research based, spiritual based or faith based. So each practitioner can be labeled according to that so that we customize that as well to the client’s special needs. Adapted the the summary, but we do offer a lot more things like off there.

00;05;19;15 – 00;05;24;25
Speaker 1
And I don’t want to talk too much. I would like you to have some questions. I’ll be,

00;05;24;28 – 00;05;53;09
Speaker 2
No, you’re doing great. And believe me, as a host, I love it when my guests talk because it means I don’t have to. So, And people hear from me all the time. We’re definitely here to hear from you and I, you know, so many questions popped up. I number one, so you are really bridging those two sides of health and wellness right between the medical side of things.

00;05;53;09 – 00;05;57;07
Speaker 2
And then, you know, we got to throw out the term woohoo at least once, right?

00;05;57;07 – 00;06;21;23
Speaker 1
So yeah, like it’s like know that’s exactly that’s exactly it. So, you know, and I am a geriatrician and I love my patients. I absolutely adore my patients. And I practice allopathic medicine. But I also have extra certifications in, osteopathy. So my residency program was one of the first in the nation to accredit MD, physicians to have that certification.

00;06;21;23 – 00;06;45;05
Speaker 1
So I am able to do some osteopathy, not like not like your your professional chiropractor, I will say are not like your doctor would, but I do it customized to my geriatric population, some soft tissue manipulation, some different types of releases. And many times someone can come into my clinic and I can assess by just touching and having that experience with Reiki and the energetic side of it.

00;06;45;05 – 00;07;10;18
Speaker 1
It has amplified my ability to recognize that and to energetically sense out that, okay, there is something else wrong here that I cannot cure in this 30 minute visit. So there’s only so much you can do with your doctor in a 15 to 30 minute visit. And I would like to have a group of practitioners and a group of modalities that I know about, or that I have read about, or that I have researched, that I and I know it works.

00;07;10;22 – 00;07;31;12
Speaker 1
And I would also like to deliver if a patient asks me, like I’ve had several patients ask me about. I like the different, body scan testing. Oh, doc, do you know about this? We trust you. So there’s an element of trust that patients have when they come to my visit. They ask me about nutritional supplements. They ask me about liver and kidney toxicity.

00;07;31;19 – 00;07;53;05
Speaker 1
They ask me about staton intolerance for cholesterol management. And I listen, I say to them, okay, well, let me see what we can work out and I hope I have I will exhaust all the millions of have medications I will offer them, and I will talk to them about polypharmacy and side effects. But if none of that works, where then do we end up?

00;07;53;08 – 00;08;17;28
Speaker 1
We don’t want to just abandon someone and say, well, it guess your body’s the problem. I guess your energy is the problem. I guess there’s nothing else I can do for you. So we should be able to afford, the the patient or the client that that bridge that gap there that is going to help them energetically get rid of, you know, these issues or offer them a safer supplement.

00;08;18;01 – 00;08;37;28
Speaker 1
And, and and I, I would always say to them and I, we always have disclaimers on our website, this is not medical advice. This is something that we we are it’s not FDA. If this is not FDA approved, it’s not medical advice. They all have disclaimers. Some things that some practitioners offer are FDA approved or they may have some evidence behind it.

00;08;37;28 – 00;08;58;29
Speaker 1
I encourage decline to look at that and say, well, this is this is the evidence out there. This is what it’s it provides. You know, you can use this at your own risk. However, you know, there’s farmers that this particular thing does not cause kidney toxicity or liver toxicity. And that’s something that I if I were just a person who does not have any medical experience, I want to know that.

00;08;58;29 – 00;09;05;22
Speaker 1
And I want to go to someone who who I can trust, who can tell me about those things as well.

00;09;05;25 – 00;09;25;13
Speaker 2
Yeah, it’s it’s really interesting to me as well as, you know, when it comes to things like Reiki or like we were talking about Ayurvedic stuff, you know, when it comes to a lot of these and because they don’t have, let’s say, the FDA stamp of approval, but they also have never really been tested to the extent to even get it right.

00;09;25;13 – 00;09;48;12
Speaker 2
And okay, time has gone on. We’ve seen more like I can remember 15 years ago, breath work was all considered. William. And now all of a sudden we’ve done all this research and we have all this scientific data that actually backs up a lot of it. So now it’s it’s crazy to me when you are talking about or hearing about it or learning about, it’s like, well, don’t discount it just because, you know, it doesn’t necessarily have this.

00;09;48;12 – 00;10;08;24
Speaker 1
Thing as it’s new. So there are many different like we have, we have some, some practitioners who do, transmutation or coaching, which used to be something that was more recognized and now it isn’t, but it’s, it’s it’s one of those fields that it’s a little bit like there’s some somatic healing going on. There’s also live coaching, which is not something that’s regulated.

00;10;08;24 – 00;10;30;18
Speaker 1
And you don’t you don’t particularly get like a license for it. You can get a certification and it’s an unregulated field. So some people would go to that and say, but how do I really know that this works for me? Well, the answer is that you tried everything else, you tried pretty much everything else, and you need something to add on as an adjunct under the guidance of your clinician.

00;10;30;18 – 00;10;55;25
Speaker 1
So I always tell people, I encourage them. I said, you know, whatever supplements you have, whatever other modality you go to, you please come and tell me about it. I would like to know because I do not want you to like I don’t want to give you something. And then you say, I’m not going to follow that because this other practitioner said not too well, then if the other practitioner said not to, and I am telling you to do this, then this may not be the thing for you.

00;10;55;27 – 00;11;25;00
Speaker 1
This, this, this I may not be for you. And I am completely comfortable in saying that to them that this may not be for you. It is the same as if someone comes to you for a narcotic pain medication and you are saying, I am not able to prescribe that. I am not able to prescribe that. It is perfectly fine for me to say I am not able to prescribe that, but I can send you to somebody who may or can give you an adequate evaluation for the treatment of some alternatives or for that medication.

00;11;25;02 – 00;11;54;18
Speaker 1
So it is the same thing. So it is a form of, of treatment, but in a whole person whole body approach. And that’s what I think is truly missing from mainstream medical care is that we we do. Yes we do. We do look at someone and a whole person approach. I don’t want to say we don’t, but there are certain limitations that we get to when you get to breath work, energy work, these are things that are not adequately understood.

00;11;54;21 – 00;12;14;29
Speaker 1
And as human beings, we have feelings in our body. We have systems that adequately can tell us that we have gut feelings. The gut feeling is not well understood. Why do we call it a gut feeling? Why do we trust our gut feeling? So that is an energetic thing. That is a feeling thing. That is a woohoo thing.

00;12;15;01 – 00;12;37;08
Speaker 1
And I am completely comfortable with saying, okay, if you want to tell me I’m woohoo, no problem. But look at this. I do have qualifications and certifications and and the allopathic field that I well, I study, I read, I educate, I on the education commission of the New York State Academy of Family Practice. I’m on the CME subcommittee for them.

00;12;37;10 – 00;13;01;23
Speaker 1
I do geriatric lectures. I talk about polypharmacy. And a lot of this thing that I’m talking about right now, I cannot sit there. I will not give a lecture there if I know that it conflicts with the general certification. So we all we have to be careful as well as clinicians about what we do say and what we do suggest, because you don’t want it to be misinterpreted as, okay, this is FDA approved.

00;13;01;23 – 00;13;20;08
Speaker 1
No it is. No, it’s not okay. I can tell you that. I can tell you what is and what is not. And I vehemently would shout that out and say it. You know, it is not FDA approved. Nope. There’s no, there’s no monitoring. There’s no licensing for this. But that is what I want to provide to people.

00;13;20;11 – 00;13;27;26
Speaker 1
I want to say that it’s vetted. Yes or no. Here you are. You are. You can make an you can make a choice about that.

00;13;27;28 – 00;13;30;25
Speaker 2
So.

00;13;30;27 – 00;13;51;20
Speaker 2
Amongst the long list of qualifications that you have that you listed earlier, that, I would expect you to be about 50 years older with all that education under your belt. Did so did you find, what what how do I say, did you find the Lou first and then go into medicine? Or do you find medicine first?

00;13;51;21 – 00;14;11;09
Speaker 1
You know what I did. That’s a great question. I think that was always first. It was always there. There are so many strange and wonderful experiences that I’ve had, in my youth and growing up that I could not attribute to anything else. But I always knew that I wanted to be a physician like I did before I knew what it was.

00;14;11;09 – 00;14;26;24
Speaker 1
I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I remember being eight years old and saying, I want an anatomy book. You need to get me an anatomy book. Like, what eight year old does that? But there are many. There are many of us. We are curious. We are curious beings. And my parents fed into that. They said, all right, no problem.

00;14;26;24 – 00;14;51;09
Speaker 1
Here’s the anatomy book. And I remember studying how a baby was born. I remember asking my parents questions even before they knew the answers to those. And and this is the genius that we need to nurture in children that you do. You do have to follow your feeling. And you should you should be encouraged to explore that energetic connection with who you are as a being.

00;14;51;11 – 00;15;09;19
Speaker 1
And that can lead to great things. Like, I remember when I was 17 years old, my cousin who has a very big position in the Citrix company, who did not. I remember him not having a degree. I remember him just telling me that he but he he worked his way up and he was very talented. He was a genius.

00;15;09;21 – 00;15;32;02
Speaker 1
And he just he said, you know what? I didn’t need the degree. I’m doing this. I said to him, I said, well, I love like Reiki and I want to do energetic medicine, and I believe in holistic and I just don’t understand why we are not embracing it more. And I was just a teenager and he said to me, he said, you go to medical school, you get your degree, you become certified, you become qualified, you become licensed.

00;15;32;04 – 00;16;00;28
Speaker 1
And then you can take that and use that to drive your passion, and you can drive it to help others in the holistic field that you want to. And I thought that was the best advice I had ever gotten. And the more I follow that, the more I open the divine connection to allow me to then connect clients and practitioners with this sort of this big gap that has had has been going on in the world from time immemorial.

00;16;01;00 – 00;16;29;05
Speaker 1
The more I allow that to happen, the bigger it grows. And I, and I’m sure I’m so positive that it is going to lead to great things. There’s a part of Gen to Leave concierge, where we are looking into doing research now for holistic practitioners in a safe way. I am looking into into that. We’re looking to get, bursaries to assist these practices, to help those who are not able to get to, to afford the care.

00;16;29;07 – 00;16;44;08
Speaker 1
So this is going this is for me. This is my baby. It is something that I have nurtured for a long time. And yes, the who came first and but it was first and then the medicine later.

00;16;44;10 – 00;17;06;23
Speaker 2
I’m curious to hear about how you see because obviously a lot of, you know, what we’re jokingly calling woos has become a lot more mainstream in recent years, especially, I mean, the last five years for certain. I feel like probably the last decade, though, we’ve really seen a lot and more and more coming out. Things like our bad, things like Reiki, things like breathwork.

00;17;06;25 – 00;17;20;19
Speaker 2
What do you see that just continuing on? Like, do you see that connection between, we’ll say, modern medicine and all the woo, becoming more and more integrated with each other?

00;17;20;19 – 00;17;41;01
Speaker 1
Yes, yes, yes and yes. But the big shout out to a big yes, like, I wish I could scream it at the top of my lungs like, you know, I, I it’s and it’s not even just seeing I feel it. And the reason why I say this is because are you. Vedic medicine has been an ancient practice for many, many years, even before we had modern medicine.

00;17;41;01 – 00;18;02;02
Speaker 1
And, and and if you look at the different herbs and spices, etc., that are being used, you know, people like they, you know, like we live in the North Country here, we don’t really know a lot about certain herbs and spices. These are things I grew up with and I didn’t even know about, like the importance of certain herbs and spices like, and and I’m looking into I’m like, wait a minute.

00;18;02;03 – 00;18;25;23
Speaker 1
These are things that the, the important compound is being used for to mirror anti-inflammatory effects. So something like that. So this is something that the more we understand more research and more science is being done on it, the more we will see, the more gaps will be bridged. There’s also, the fields of like quantum, like quantum energy and quantum entanglement that are being explored as well.

00;18;25;23 – 00;18;46;02
Speaker 1
And the more we research now, we’re finding out about black holes. Now we are finding out about, timelines and that that timelines are actually everything is actually occurring at once. I don’t know if you know about those those theories and, you know, so I read a lot about this, I read it, I studied, I love it, I love astronomy, and I love quantum physics.

00;18;46;05 – 00;19;10;19
Speaker 1
And this is this is something that even in my undergrad, research, I remember reading about the string theory and the theory, how fascinating it was. And these are things we are we think theoretically about, we think theoretically about it, and we think that if this is if energy is, we will then that’s also because, because we we have so many theories about it.

00;19;10;21 – 00;19;42;16
Speaker 1
And we don’t, we don’t, we don’t think that we, we think different. We think in terms of beginning and end. We’re not thinking about a spectrum, but everything is a spectrum. So I do see this as growing, somewhere in the future. Based on the this year alone, the coming research based on even, the opening up of psychedelics for research, like psychedelics for research and the treatment of, of treatment resistant depression and PTSD and, and hospice and end of life care.

00;19;42;16 – 00;20;03;03
Speaker 1
I was so intrigued to know that we are doing this, because this also brings back a sense of compassionate care to those who are to those who are dying. And that’s something that we would have not thought about, like this was made illegal by the FDA, you know, so many years ago, and now it is coming to fruition.

00;20;03;06 – 00;20;30;14
Speaker 2
Well, and it’s interesting to it brings up the point that some of these things you’re talking about plant based medicine, hallucinogenic and the treatments that they’re now being used for PTSD, depression, addiction. And, you know, what we’re seeing is what we tried before wasn’t working. Right. And these things we never investigated or tried, they’re they’re helping.

00;20;30;14 – 00;20;51;14
Speaker 2
And it as you’re saying, that it was making me think about kind of your practice and gentle leaf concierge because what you’re saying is like, hey, we’re we’re going to cover the medicine side here. But when those treatments and interventions and, aren’t really doing what we need or they’re falling short, we’re going to explore some other possibilities, is that kind of like a fair way to say it?

00;20;51;16 – 00;21;14;10
Speaker 1
Yep, yep, that’s exactly it. Because I, I for one, I will never I would never want to neglect what modern medicine has done. And it does work if you do have, severe coronary artery disease, with a widowmaker like I will, I am sending you to get a cardiac catheterization. You need a stent like you. You. We have to.

00;21;14;18 – 00;21;33;22
Speaker 1
This is life saving treatment. You know, this is this is something I do not want to ignore. If you have, if you have, rheumatoid arthritis, and it is so severe that nothing we do in the complimentary way is going to to help that. Yes. You need the medications. Yes. We need to get, we need to get the proper bloodwork done.

00;21;33;22 – 00;22;03;15
Speaker 1
We need to get you diagnose. But if we can’t, then where do we end up? And we cannot amend. We cannot keep abandoning people in that way. And we all we are already finding out a lot about how trauma from your past, your PTSD anxiety from way back when you were a child, even transfers throughout life. And this is where, like the somatic somatic coaching actually comes, is bears its head.

00;22;03;17 – 00;22;27;28
Speaker 1
And, and I’ve actually interviewed with a lot of somatic coaches recently, and they’re talking about all these fantastic experiences where, someone cannot, couldn’t sing and all of a sudden they were able to have that release and now they can sing or someone it wasn’t able to feel their left side of their body because of a so monetization disorder, now they can feel it because that trauma is now being allowed to release in their body.

00;22;28;05 – 00;22;52;12
Speaker 1
And and the techniques that are being used are holistic. It may incorporate it may borrow something from psychotherapy, it may be something from coaching. It may borrow something from chakra medicine and chakra meditation or even meridian tracing. There are also different feels like even using astrology. And I know people definitely think that that’s woo hoo, but the stars have it.

00;22;52;12 – 00;23;23;22
Speaker 1
The stars do have it. The stars are the. There’s an important thing about when the star alignment when you are born, and there have been certain practitioners again who would use like Chinese astrology or Vedic astrology in order to connect and give you a possibility of a timeline that you’re on that may be contributing to certain things. So having that knowledge about the makeup of your body and the time that you were born is going to resonate with us.

00;23;23;22 – 00;23;42;24
Speaker 1
And we all know this. This makes actual sense. Why? Because I was born. I was born in the Caribbean. I was born in Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean, in a hot climate. I remember what it was like to be there, as opposed to being in upstate New York, where it is viciously cold. For me, right now, it is viciously cold.

00;23;42;24 – 00;23;44;14
Speaker 1
Why am I here? You know, so we haven’t.

00;23;44;14 – 00;23;45;22
Speaker 2
Even gotten to the hard part.

00;23;45;22 – 00;24;05;01
Speaker 1
I know. Right? It’s like know, but it’s for me it is. It’s cold. And like, all I can think about is those cold showers on a on a on a sweltering hot day in Trinidad and Tobago. The fact that I used to shower three times a day. And that’s the reason I shower so much now, you know, that’s a reason my skin is dry now.

00;24;05;01 – 00;24;24;24
Speaker 1
So if you think if you look back and you just connected to those things, it makes perfect sense. So it can also make perfect sense about the environment or the place in the time that you were born in an astrological sense. So that’s just stuff that’s like a little, little, little snippet of what I can say to justify that.

00;24;24;27 – 00;24;48;05
Speaker 2
Well, I’ll tell you, my wife loves getting her reading done and swears by the readings that she’s had done. You know, I mean, know, I’ve never I, I’ve, I’ve kind of had one done shout out to Jane Fairchild locally that does astrology readings, but, yeah, it’s fascinating for sure. And interesting that you’re looking at all this stuff, too, inside your practice.

00;24;48;07 – 00;25;18;11
Speaker 2
I’m curious, how do you reconcile, like, in today’s day and age, we have so much like the access to information is huge, right? And sometimes that’s an amazing thing. But also sometimes that’s an awful thing because there is so much tradition. Yeah. Yeah. Right. And some of it’s not good information. Well, when people are getting interested in the kind of things that Gentle Leaf is offering, what kind of advice would you give them to help them kind of understand?

00;25;18;11 – 00;25;32;17
Speaker 2
Because you know, they’re going to hear about Reiki, maybe for the first time for googling it, or they’re going to go on chat. You want to hear whatever, and they’re going to see a lot of different kinds of opinions and thoughts that come back to them. How do people sort through all that?

00;25;32;20 – 00;25;55;21
Speaker 1
So this is why on gentle, this page, and we do have each practitioner, we have their profile and we have listed what information they have and what they offer. And they can be feel free to go and engage with that practitioner’s information. However, an important part of what we do is we also offer little educational segments. So and and I thank you for asking this question because it has it’s the tell you about this.

00;25;55;21 – 00;26;20;17
Speaker 1
So so we have a, community on school as called ask all. It’s called rooted. And what I have been doing is uploading little, mini snippets of educational lectures that actually gives evidence based material. So it talks about evidence based material and it gives you like I’ve talked about, geriatric memory assessment. I’ve talked about the 3DS and dementia assessment.

00;26;20;17 – 00;26;51;12
Speaker 1
I’ve talked about different things that you can look at that actually comes from the DSM five criteria or the the geriatric review syllabus. So we talk about things like that. I’ve also been inviting different practitioners to do little educational segments about things that are actually proven, actually proven, and actually have like little articles, etc. like we have one practitioner who does, a, bio thermal scan, that that has different modalities on it.

00;26;51;16 – 00;27;10;04
Speaker 1
And I was like amazed. I’m like, this thing exists. Like, how can you use this? You know, what do you use it for? So I was interested in it. And it turns out there are many and many, there’s PubMed like there’s publications on it. So, you know, if, if we, if I am recommending something, I would like to offer that to people.

00;27;10;04 – 00;27;29;18
Speaker 1
So if they, if they go on, they look at our little lectures, they look at our pot. So we have a Jerry doc MD podcast that’s coming out soon, which gives like a 20 minute snippet of wellness and it relates it to healthy aging as well. So and it is in my best interest and in my patients, on my clients best interest to have something that’s all in one.

00;27;29;18 – 00;27;52;17
Speaker 1
And then you can compare it and you can and I will say it loudly, if there’s no evidence on it, I will say that if there’s something that’s, strictly spiritual, like we have two practitioners who are, who are faith based healers. They’re both reverends. One is a has two doctorates, one in music and one in a different field in engineering, engineering and music.

00;27;52;20 – 00;28;08;12
Speaker 1
And he is a reverend. So he does a different type of spiritual based healing. And he’s a not for profit. The other one, she, she travels. She’s an interfaith minister. So she travels and she’ll go to your home and she can pray with you. She can do it for hospice. She could do it for a variety of people.

00;28;08;12 – 00;28;33;17
Speaker 1
So that as well is something that you can’t really say, okay, well, there’s evidence there that’s spiritual based and I can say that much. And several of our Reiki practitioners have also been teachers before. So they have also been teachers. They’ve taught in different fields, and they’ve done things like Hawaiian energetics. And there’s only a few, a handful of, practitioners, I think she’s she was selling me about 180 practitioners, who do Hawaiian energetics.

00;28;33;17 – 00;28;39;27
Speaker 1
So it’s a very small community, and it’s something that there’s not a lot of information on, but there is fixed information on it.

00;28;40;00 – 00;28;52;17
Speaker 2
Can you tell me what it is like? I’m sitting here and I’m like, I’ve never heard of Hawaiian. And I’m like, and if I’m wondering, I know I can googled after, but if anyone’s listening, they’re going to be like, how come you didn’t ask the question, so what is Hawaiian energetics?

00;28;52;19 – 00;29;12;03
Speaker 1
So I am not the best person to ask about it because I am not the practitioner. But I’ve spoken with Joan Joan Reid, she is one of our practitioners. She practices at the shirt factory here in Glens Falls. And, she is trained in Hawaiian energetics. She also has a, so it’s an energetic and energetic mode of healing.

00;29;12;09 – 00;29;40;07
Speaker 1
And she learned that by practicing with, with actual practitioners who are gifted with this in Hawaii. And from what I, what I know about it is it targets certain things in your body and teaches you how to move the energy. And this is how I can explain it to you. I actually, I’m actually going to join a class of hers pretty soon, in order to do the Reiki master level class, and also to learn a little bit about the Hawaiian energetics.

00;29;40;10 – 00;30;03;29
Speaker 1
Because again, I being the owner and founder of this concierge, I want to know from experience what these things are and what they feel like. Because being someone who is intuitive and empathetic, I would like to feel what what my clients are going to be exposed to, to know if it’s something that really matters for them. So.

00;30;03;29 – 00;30;35;13
Speaker 1
So yeah, again, and I will tell anybody, reach out to Joan, she does this, you know, she’s great. There’s another practitioner in Colorado who’s part of us, Reece. Leo. Netty. She does. Oh, no. Opal, it’s a different it’s a type of Hawaiian healing as well, too. And she’s also Reiki practitioner. So. So, yeah, there are different types of fields out there, and I would truly encourage anybody to, contact those practitioners or join join on Gentle Leaf and ask questions about it if they are curious.

00;30;35;15 – 00;30;47;27
Speaker 1
These practices also do workshops. They do workshops and they teach people about it. They have them locally, they do them online as well. And they would also be doing little educational segments and, pieces of the podcast.

00;30;47;29 – 00;30;51;22
Speaker 2
Amazing. I can keep going for about another four hours.

00;30;51;22 – 00;30;56;16
Speaker 1
I know this is it’s exciting.

00;30;56;19 – 00;31;07;24
Speaker 2
But I won’t do that to you. So let’s how about this? If people are interested in dental leave concierge, or maybe they’re, interested in. And your practice specifically, how do they find you guys?

00;31;07;26 – 00;31;36;19
Speaker 1
So they can just go to Gentle Leaf concierge.com? They can also send us a text message at (518) 415-0444. They may email us at info at Gentle Leaf concierge.com. I would like if anyone if they’re interested in the services, you just go online, on the website and you click on the wellness assessment as a client, you fill it out and you will be given three wellness practitioners that you can sample.

00;31;36;21 – 00;31;58;24
Speaker 1
You can call them, you can talk to them, you can book a visit. Many practitioners do offer complimentary consults, and they also do offer a sliding scale. On the website, it’s also listed if they offer a video visit. So they could do it from home. And some people also do come to your home. If you are a practitioner who is interested in joining Gentle Leaf, you can also fill out the Join our Tree of Life.

00;31;58;24 – 00;32;21;19
Speaker 1
