Capital Region PRISM Seeks Aquatic Invasive Species Program Manager to Protect Local Waterways

Ballston Spa, NY – The Capital Region Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM), a program funded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and delivered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County (CCE Saratoga), is actively seeking an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Program Manager.

Serving eleven counties in the Capital Region, including Albany, Columbia, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and portions of Fulton, Greene, Herkimer, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties, the Capital Region PRISM is committed to conserving New York’s natural resources by combating the spread of invasive species.

The AIS Program Manager will play a pivotal role in protecting the region’s waterways. Key responsibilities include managing a watercraft inspection steward prevention program, overseeing early detection and response efforts for aquatic invasive species, and implementing strategic conservation initiatives. The role also involves recruiting and supervising seasonal staff, coordinating partner efforts, training citizen volunteers, collecting and reporting data, and performing invasive species eradication and control efforts directly.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental conservation and demonstrate strong leadership, outreach, and program management skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the region’s aquatic ecosystems.
