Students & Manufacturers Take Center Stage at Proctors for Expanded What’s So Cool About Manufacturing® Video Awards Show

Schenectady, NY — The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) will host its second annual “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing®” (WSCM) Student Video Awards on Wednesday, April 22 at Proctors GE Theater.

Fifteen student teams from middle schools across the Capital Region, more than double last year’s participation, collaborated with local manufacturers to produce short, creative videos that highlight “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing.”The event will feature a pre-show Manufacturer Expo and an awards show with video highlights, with online voting for the Viewers’ Choice Award tripling from last year.

  • Cohoes Middle School, Albany County

  • KIPP Albany Community Charter Middle School, Albany County
  • Maple Hill Jr. High School, Rensselaer County
  • Mont Pleasant Middle School, Schenectady County
  • North Albany Middle School, Albany County
  • Oneida Middle School, Schenectady County
  • Shaker Middle School, Albany County
  • Stephen & Harriet Myers Middle School, Albany County
  • Troy Middle School, Rensselaer County
  • Voorheesville Middle School, Albany County
  • Watervliet Jr. High School, Albany County
• Representatives from participating manufacturers
• Business and community leaders

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 22, with the Featured Manufacturer Expo running from 5 to 5:50 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony from 6 to 7 p.m. at Proctors GE Theater, 432 State St, Schenectady, NY 12305.
